Pyramid Pillars is a concise 3D display of the pillars of Islam, Eman and Ihsan. The pyramid model is accompanied by an interactive sticker and poster set where each pillar has to be matched to the correct position. The illustration on the 3D model and the poster summarises the pillars of the deen of Islam and shows their hierarchal relationship to one another. The illustration is based upon the hadeeth of the Angel Jibraa'eel when he asked the Prophet Muhammad to inform him about Islam, Eman and Ihsan. The relevant sections of the hadeeth are quoted on the other three faces of the pyramid model.
One 3D pyramid net (side lengths 18cm)
One triangular shaped poster (side lengths 36cm)
Two sicker sheets.
It has to be remembered that Pyramid Pillars is primarily a summative display of the pillars of the deen of Islam and presents a simple illustration to help understand the position of the pillars and their relation to one another. Understanding the hierarchical levels and structure of the pillars is often a point of confusion for many primary aged children.
The pyramid model could be used as the primary focus during the discussion of any one of the pillars. The sticker and poster set could be conducted as an exercise prior and/or after any discussion of the pillars in order to gauge the understanding of the children or the effectiveness of the discussion in clarifying any misconceptions.
Even when the discussion of the pillars is complete, both the pyramid model and the sticker & poster set make excellent display pieces for use both at home and in the classroom.
